Building Better Opportunities Lancashire

Building Better Opportunities is a national programme from The Big Lottery Fund who are matching funds from the European Social Fund (ESF) 2014-2020 to invest in local projects tackling the root causes of poverty, promoting social inclusion and driving local jobs and growth.

Intact is a delivery partner in four projects in Lancashire which is part of the nationwide Building Better Opportunities scheme which brings together funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF) to help tackle the poverty and social exclusion faced by the most disadvantaged people in England.

Age of Opportunity

Intact is a delivery partner in the Age of Opportunity project in Lancashire (led by Selnet) which is part of the nationwide Building Better Opportunities scheme which brings together funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF) to help tackle the poverty and social exclusion faced by the most disadvantaged people in England.

The project aims to transform the futures of older people over the age of 50 who have issues in their lives that are getting in the way of them finding employment. It will focus on participants with mental or physical health difficulties, who are homeless, have disabilities or may be full-time carers.

Intact is a delivery partner in the Invest in Youth project in Lancashire (led by Selnet) which is part of the nationwide Building Better Opportunities scheme which brings together funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF) to help tackle the poverty and social exclusion faced by the most disadvantaged people in England.

The project aims to transform the futures of young people aged between 15 and 24 who have issues in their lives that are getting in the way of them finding employment. It will focus on participants with mental or physical health difficulties, who are homeless, have disabilities or may be full-time carers. More Information on European Funding in Lancashire

The 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) Growth Programme provides funds to help local areas stimulate growth. The funds support investment in innovation, businesses, skills and employment to improve local growth and create jobs.

A single ESIF Growth Programme has been set up to combine three separate European Funds. The Growth Programme provides funding to help projects in England that create jobs and economic growth.

Lancashire LEP developed arrangements to ‘opt-in’ to the Big Lottery Fund to enable Lancashire to build a strong foundation for social inclusion programmes. This resulted in a £12.5m project for Lancashire in Building Better Opportunities joint funded by The Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund that will encompass 5 Lancashire projects.
