Background and experience: Malcolm has over 30 years’ experience at senior level, primarily in the education sector. He has a long history of serving on boards and has helped to establish a registered charity. He is a past President of the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.
Malcolm was the Managing Director of Malcolm Clarke Associates and managed a number of projects for clients that included the Preston Vocational Centre and Association of Colleges Business Development Network. His has assisted in training linked to social housing and under taken business development and research across the region.
As an Assistant Principal and Director of Business Services at Preston’s college, Malcolm was responsible for all aspects of employer engagement, managing the External Funding Team and direct line management of vocational training and academic departments within the college. He held various local and national Chair and Vice Chair positions and was an executive member of the Preston Strategic Partnership.
Malcolm served as Chair for the Preston Vocational Centre Limited. He helped to establish this organisation in 2007 and provide strategic direction and leadership to the Non-Executive Directors. He has developed his strategic thinking and reasoning skills and supported colleagues to understand complex information.
He was also Group Vice chair of the Progress Housing Group.
