I was born in Manchester and trained for teaching at Christ’s College, Liverpool, now known as Hope University. I later studied for a BA Degree with the Open University. I spent my first 12 years teaching in inner-city Liverpool schools.
I moved to Preston in 1986. My first post in the Lancashire Authority was as deputy head teacher at St Anthony’s CPS, Fulwood.
I am now the retired head teacher of Holy Family, after 22 years’ service! My week is split between working in the community, having time with my family and working on my allotment.
Apart from being a Trustee of INTACT I have been heavily involved in the development of our nature reserve Dobcroft.
