My name is Janette, I am a BACP Registered, Person-Centred Counsellor. I strive to offer a safe, supportive, non-judgmental, and confidential environment to clients. I aim to work alongside you using an ethical and humanistic approach. This style of counselling was developed by Carl Rogers, an eminent and world-renowned American psychologist. One of his guiding principles was that the clients themselves are the experts in knowing what they want and need.
Counselling may help when you are faced with challenges such as bereavement, traumas, addiction, self-harm, low self-esteem. These challenges can often lead to anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. These impact people and often lead to a lack of self-worth or being undervalued.
The benefits of this type of counselling are numerous. They may lead to a healthier relationship, decrease anxiety, reduce depression, and aid feelings of panic. People are more likely to talk and express personal feelings and opinions. They learn to trust themselves and there is less guilt over past thoughts or experiences.
Counselling aims to support people to develop and find skills or tools to find their own confidence to enable them to manage and make informed decisions about their own wellbeing.
Seeing a counsellor may enable you to make changes in your life, unconditionally finding the right focus in your life.
